What Are Bucket Teeth?

Filed under: conversions — admin @ 1:49 pm

It is pretty obviously really, take this huge digger at a big bucket on the front and those things that stick out of the bucket that lift things and dig into the ground are bucket teeth.  OK that statement was tongue and cheek, but the quality of the work a digger has to do is reliant on the quality of its bucket teeth. These little units are not permanently welded to the bucket (in most cases), they are designed to be replaced at different times. so as not to replace the whole bucket. these bucket teeth can be bought in different sizes to suit small rubber tracked vehicles right up to these huge diggers we see on big building and excavating projects.

So to help understand what bucket teeth do, we have added a small video found on a third party site. Yu may not find this to be the biggest machine out there, but it is a good example of what bucket teeth actually do.

Go Kart With Rubber Tracks

Filed under: conversions — admin @ 4:17 pm

We couldn’t think of any other way to describe this vehcile as a Go kart with Rubber Tracks. When it moves only the front and rear sprockets actually touch the rubber tracks, except when going over extreme . What you get is a one man vehicle than can handle severe snow stuff very well, although I would imaging the guy would get cold very easy.

It looks like it was made in the garage, but there is no doubt lots of fun especially when drifting like this guy is doing here. It is great to see rubber tracks conversions like this, glad we dont have the weather in the UK to try them out that much though.

A 4×4 Converted To Rubber Tracks

Filed under: conversions — admin @ 12:00 pm

Yes we have heard of 4×4 vehicles and all terrain vehicles but to make a pick up go vertually anywhere you probably need to take drastic steps. One way is to add rubber tracks and its assemebly to the wheels of your pick and enjoy the new places you can drive to. In this video you will see just that. A pick up converted to rubber tracks. It is surprisingly fast down the road also, although I wouldn’t want to have to turn quickly at these speeds.
The middly areas it is driving though seem too extreme for a vehicle with wheels this small, but cant help thinking a Range Rover would have done the same thing.

However with a 30 minute fitting which means you can have rubber tracks in hard to drive areas and normal tires in normal areas is the best of both worlds and something to consider.
